2012 is an Action Sci-Fi telling the adventure of worldwide apocalyptical earthquakes and the struggle of the survivors. Starring actors such as Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover it has a rating of 6.o/10 over at The Internet Movie Database.

Story:

The worldwide geophysical team member Dr. Adrian Helmsely (Chiwetel Ejiofor) learn that the earth is heating up from investigating the effect of radiation. The movie follow people trying to survive while volcano eruptions and earthquakes havoc around them. One of them is Jackson Curtis (John Cusack), divorced and father of two, as he discovers the same information as Dr. Adrian Helmsley while meeting Charlie Frost (Woody Harrelson), an enthusiastic doomsday believing radio show talkhost.

My verdict and my rate:

2012 has awesome special effects but it is nothing more. At least it isn’t if you like a movie with intellectual substance, also there is no interesting back-story. Best seen on large screens like those in movie theaters to fully enjoy the special effects. I could rate the special effects a 10 however the movie recieve a 1.

The plan is to theme BananaMunki into a unique and reader friendly, attractive, weblog which also validates and is SEO optimised. I have worked on the visual these past two weeks. Parenting a one year old I have been working with a limited time schedule. I haven’t worked with web design for over two years and this mean I have some studying on CSS3 and HTML5 to do. I haven’t created a theme for WordPress before and PHP is quite a new field to me.

So this is a little challenge but the main thing is the limited amount of free time I have right now. Even though I’m not a single mom his dad both work and study which give me little time for other things than parenting. This project will take some time to finish. With my child starting daycare within one month I should have a bit more time in not too long.

I have looked at many themes for WordPress and it is difficult to find one with all the aspects I look for. I don’t want to have to compromise one thing for another. Finding a theme with nice colors that at the same time is widgetized as well as having for example a navigation that I like and a line spacing that I can appreciate, it isn’t the simplest thing to find. No, it’s not simple to satisfy me .

This image below is the mock-up I developed in Photoshop. It’s not pixel perfect, there are some adjustments to be made but overall it’s finished. Yes, it’s only a front page. I have yet to develop the page.php and the single.php with the comment section and more.

Banana Munki, Graphic

Had trouble with the right-click function in IE8. Could not right click anything. It was very annoying. I did research and found a solution that fixed the problem. Posting the fix at Banana Munki just in case it could help someone else who experience the same annoying trouble.

1. Go to RegEdit
   path C:/Windows/regedit.exe
2. Go to the following location
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions
3. Find the key named NoBrowserContextMenu
   double click and change the value to 0

Fixes

I use Songbird – it is my favorite in music players with all it’s features/add-ons (radio steamers as one example). I like it’s look and it simply ”feels right”. I even dedicated a post to it so it’s unfortunate that I find Songbird be a bit too unacceptably slow.

I decided to do a search on Open Source Music Player and after giving quite a few other music players a chance to enthrall me I am giving the best candidate  i could find one week to get me hooked.

The lucky winner is Media Monkey. Music manager and Media Jukebox for large collections developed by Ventis Media Inc for organizing and playing audio on Microsoft Windows operating systems.  Available in a free version as well as a paid one, called Gold licence. Skinnable, with extension scripts and plug-ins.

I wouldn’t mind Amarok, not at all. I use Windows and isn’t going to switch (back) to Linux over music players so I’ll keep my eyes open for a Windows version.

I’m not ruling out the possibility that there is a way to make (my beloved xD ) Songbird speed up. Songbird is perfection <3. Ha!
